100 and counting.

I saved this post for a while after returning from my SE Asia trip for a few planned reasons:

1. It's always nice to reflect after a long trip and post throughts about it later.

2. Getting back from Asia was a big adjustment and I didn't want to follow up my last Post Of Despair with one about reverse culture shock.

3. Catching up with friends and family at home has been taking priority to internet tasks.

4. Honestly, I've been sleeping a lot job hunting night and day.

5. Probably most notable- it's Playing With Elephant's 100th post! Woot.

I don't know what kind of celebration is necessary or appropriate when my blog turns 100 posts (which is like 18 in human years). All I can say is it's pretty wild to imagine that 100 blog posts ago, I hadn't ever been abroad, especially since today is the start of another adventure.

And I mean that as more than a philosophical saying.
I mean, it's literally the start of another trip.

I've made it a habit of announcing my big trips on Playing With Elephants, and until this point, had only defined a 'big' trip in the context of going abroad. Well, the US is pretty big, too, and until now I haven't explored very much of it. When I came back from Korea, I told myself I would go on a long road trip. Originally, I had planned for the summer of 2012, but opportunity struck and I ran with it, so now I'm on the road again!

For the next week, I'll be roadtripping with another awesome adventurer through the US to Montgomery, Alabama. Cheengu, of course, will be coming along for the adventure too, and I'm pretty sure he will be completely out of his element, as he's only really traveled in Asia. At least I will know exactly how he feels.

Since this is only a weeklong trip, I'll be posting photos and tips for the road after I'm safely back in Seattle so stay tuned. Until then, here's to the next 100 posts!

xoxo Laura and Cheengu
